You Can’t Sell a Secret (Part 1)

This is the first is a series that will look at the do’s and don’ts of marketing your property for sale.

Let’s consider a basic question. What are you trying to achieve when you decide to put your property on the market? It is probably safe to assume the answer to this is that as a seller, you want the best possible price in the shortest possible time.

Knowing this goal helps to explain the title of this series “You Can’t Sell a Secret”. To achieve the best price in the shortest time frame, you need to ensure the greatest number of people are aware that your property is for sale. “That’s obvious,” you might say. True, but we have had clients who want to put their home on the market but don’t want to anyone to know. They don’t want it advertised and they certainly don’t want a For Sale sign out the front.

Make no mistake. If you want the best possible price in the shortest possible time, then you need to let your agent do all they can to present your property to a wide market. Something as simple as a good ‘For Sale’ sign out the front might be just the ticket to lure the buyer.

You can’t sell a secret. If you want to sell your home – then you need to tell the world.
